Leanne’s Bio

 

Leanne makes her home in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.  As a child and teenager she performed lead roles in numerous musicals and talent shows.  When she was seven, she began piano lessons and hated piano for the first four years.  Due to her mother’s insistence that she complete five years of lessons, a “miracle” occurred. At the age of 11 she asked if she could continue taking piano.  After recovering from the shock, her parents supported her to continue studying piano for the next eight years.  She was awarded her Grade Ten Piano from the Toronto Royal Conservatory of Music in 1991.  Leanne has studied vocals since 1988.  She has the vocal power of a classical artist, and the style of country meets jazz.  Her musical influences include Martina Mcbride, Diana Krall, U2 and Amanda Marshall.  She promotes peace internally, interpersonally, and internationally.

 

 

Text Box: When she’s not singing (and even when she is), Leanne loves travelling, watersports, downhill skiing, hiking, and the Vancouver Canucks. She is an aunt of two nephews and one niece, who keep her grounded. “I’d like to be known as a musician who encourages peace through passion.” Leanne says, “If I don’t believe what I sing, I can’t sing it. If I can’t have fun, I won’t do it.” “I want every person who hears me to find new places in their spiritual journey and find God in music.” Looking Forward speaks of following your dreams. An eclectic mix of styles, Leanne entertains diverse audiences.  She has performed at multiple venues around Vancouver for groups from 10 to 500.  Humor and spiritually provocative lyrics combine for a musical experience that will leave you asking for more.  Future tour locations include Nashville, TN, USA; Calgary, AB, Canada; and Toronto, ON, Canada.
